Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec Celebrates a Small Business Revolution

By: Finance Foodie

The other day, I had the honor of attending a special press screening of the new 8 part mini-series Small Business Revolution, which showcases the transformation of Wabash, Indiana through its small businesses.  The online series, available to view now at smallbusinessrevolution.org and set to stream on Hulu beginning October 21, is hosted by the esteemed Shark Tank investor and son of immigrant factory worker Robert Herjavec and the affable Amanda Brinkman of Deluxe Corporation. As the Mister and I are big Shark Tank fans (we DVR every episode!), I obviously had to attend and check it out.

During the screening, members of the press got a sneak peak of Episode 2, which focuses on revitalizing Harry's Old Kettle Pub and Grill, a long standing pub in Wabash that is struggling to convert into a full-service restaurant. I won't give away too much (you guys will have to watch yourselves), but based on the initial episode, I think this series got some serious legs. The episode felt truly authentic and just made you want to root for the success of Wabash!

After the episode, Robert and Amanda took the stage to answer questions from the audience. Robert talked about his own journey as a business owner, as well as the role technology plays in transforming small businesses. Amanda talked about the Deluxe Corporation's role in this small town transformation as well as insights from the inner workings of small businesses.

The 2017 nominations for the next small town to be Main Street Revitalized by Deluxe is now open until October 21. So go to smallbusinessrevolution.org and your favorite small town could be the next Wabash and get $500K for an spruce up!
