"Oh what a celebration, we'll have today..."
One of my favorite ways to make regular (and boring!) Chex Mix festive for a party is creating the Hot Buttered Yum Chex Mix for my guests when throwing a holiday party. A combination of cinnamon, brown sugar, honey and marshmallows blend effortlessly together in a crazy-delicious, gluten free crunchy mix. Stir up a rich and buttery mix married with delicate spices and rum flavoring. Check out the recipe below!
Ingredients
4 cups Honey Nut Chex® cereal2 cups Cinnamon Chex® cereal
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon rum flavoring
2 cups miniature marshmallows
Preparation Directions
1. In large microwavable bowl, place cereals. In 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter, brown sugar and honey uncovered on High 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until mixture is bubbly. Stir in spices and rum flavoring. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until coated.2. Microwave uncovered on High 3 minutes, stirring and scraping bowl after every minute.
3. Cool slightly; about 5 minutes. Stir in marshmallows. Spread on waxed paper. Store in airtight container.

My favorite thing to bring to parties is these taco pinwheel things that my brother found a recipe for a while back. It is just basically cream cheese and sour cream mixed with chopped black olives, mild green chillies (canned) and shredded cheddar. some of that gets schmeared onto a tortilla shell and rolled up. After it chills for a while you cut the long tortilla in the bite sized rounds
