The other night, I visited the Barilla Restaurant in Herald Square to celebrate pre-Carbonara Day. Carbonara Day was established in Italy last April 6 as a way to hail a particularly delicious pasta that most believe was first made in mid-20th Century Rome as a hearty meal for Italian charcoal workers. Barilla Restaurants will bring Carbonara
All the fragrant scents from Chef Sanna's kitchen made me hungry, so I was super excited to eat the final product. Oh wow was it tasty! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was creamy and rich. The bacon was nicely crispy and the dash of black pepper really brought all the flavors together seamlessly. I've had many a Carbonara dishes from many a different restaurants but this by far was one of the best.
