Sweet and Succulent at Summer Fancy Food Show 2016

By Finance Foodie

The Specialty Food Association's Annual Fancy Food Show in New York City is probably one of my favorite things to attend - I mean, where else can you indulge yourself with over 150,000 types of food related items over the span of three days?
Welcome Indeed!
Think high end Costco on autopilot and you will get the picture. Like every year prior, I try to take as much in as possible, but alas I probably only hit less than 25% of the items. So until science can build me an extra stomach, you will just have to settle for some of the highlights I perused this year.

Low Calorie Lovin'
In an ideal world, I would be able eat big bowls of pasta everyday and not gain weight. Living in a dream world right? WRONG! With Miracle Noodles, you can actually get the feel of eating spaghetti and rice without the calories!! Is this some sorta of Jedi mind warp? Nope - this low calorie, soy free, gluten free, vegan and non gmo, Kosher Shirataki noodle is made mostly with fiber which slows digestion and provides the sensation of fullness -but still gives you the sensation of eating your favorite pasta dish! A "Miracle" for weight loss/healthy living/cutting extraneous calories indeed!

Flavorful Beauty
The Mister is a long time Burt Bee's lip balm fan, but he recently discovered a product that will give Burt (or should I say Clorox...hmmm) a run for his money!  Savannah Bee Company Beeswax Natural Lip Balm contains a quadruple threat of organic beeswax, additional softening honey, pure propolis, and nourishing royal jelly - all to keep the Mister's lips soft and smooth. Plus, these lip balms come in a variety of yummy foodie flavors - so you can start off with some Earl Grey in the morning, have some Peach for lunch and end with some Key Lime for dessert - hooray!

Bye Bye Bad Breath
In my Finance by Day job, nothing is worse than being stuck at a meetings with someone who has terrible breath - unfortunately this has happened many a times - and I am talking cringe-worthy type Dragon breath! Next time I'll be sure to pass the offenders a Sencha Naturals Green Tea mint. Made with Green Tea (a natural germ / bacteria killer), these tasty terror fighters come in a variety of pleasant flavors like ginger lemongrass and cinnamon. Plus, unlike some of the artificial breath fresheners out there, Sencha's mints are sweetened with natural coconut sugar and comes in a eco-friendly recyclable tube - good for the environment and good for your breath!

Livin' for Lobster
Now most people know I love me some lobster and would love to eat it all the time. However, lobster is not easily cooked/procured and can be a mess to prepare - until now! Hancock Gourmet Lobster Company's frozen ready to eat lobster entrees are the bee's knees when it comes to frozen meals - just a taste of the lobster risotto (made with REAL Maine Lobster) had me doing a little happy dance. And it is so easy to make - just pop it in the oven for a few minute and dinner is served. Hancock has a variety of lobster based dishes - from the risotto, to cakes to pot pies and more - they got all your lobster craving needs covered.

So there you have it - a little bit of all-good everything, I'm signing off - until next year that is!
