Taste Testing McDonald's New Egg White Delight McMuffin

By: Finance Foodie

McDonald's recently launched a new breakfast offering at 250 calories: the Egg White Delight McMuffin. The new breakfast sandwich is prepared on the grill with 100% egg whites, extra lean Canadian bacon and white cheddar served on a new muffin made with eight grams of whole grain. This introduction represents McDonald’s ongoing efforts to evolve its menu with more great-tasting, relevant food choices.

So what did I think of this improved by 50 calories McMuffin? Don't let this less than lifeless photo daunt you - the sandwich was surprisingly good! For starters, the cheese is a noticeable stand out in the Egg White Delight. Perhaps it's the use of the new white cheddar (which has a sharper and richer flavor) or it's because the egg white is effectively taste neutral but whatever it is - I like it! And at a mere 250 calories, the Egg White Delight is a perfect low cal breakfast option or even as an afternoon snack. (Egg White Delight: 250 calories per sandwich, Avg. Retail Price: $2.99)
